Chevrolet Colorado Launch @ KLPAC

29 Mar

Chevrolet Malaysia via Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, has unveiled the all-new Chevrolet Colorado midsize pick-up truck in Malaysia. The all-new Colorado is the product of a 5-year, US$2 billion vehicle program developed across 5 continents for customers in more than 60 markets around the world.

The all-new Chevrolet Colorado is built on nearly a century of Chevrolet trucking heritage and engineered with the best combination of power, durability, comfort and economy in its class. It has been subjected to a tough development and validation process, and has been tested in the toughest conditions around the world. The result is a midsize pickup truck that is the best-in-class in terms of power, durability and economy over all terrains, and under all operating conditions.

New from the ground up, the all-new Colorado has bigger overall dimensions over its predecessor. At the front, Chevrolet’s internationally-recognized gold bowtie and signature dual-port grille are complemented by two large projector-style chromium headlamps that flow into the front fenders. The side-beams of the large hood are three inches higher and, together with the flared wheel arches, give the Colorado a higher shoulder line and a visibly bolder look. The LTZ variant will be equipped with square chromium fog lights, aiding visibility in conditions with poor lighting. A tough metal sump-guard is integrated into the bottom of the front bumper, and lends a tougher look to the front-end, while serving to protect the bottom of the powertrain from rugged terrains.

Chrome, low-gloss and soft-finish materials are used throughout the truck – the tailgate, door handles, rear fender and electric side mirrors – for a premium and more modern feel, while breaking the monotony of an expansive sheet of metal. Large, vertical taillight clusters, housing LED lamps for better visibility to other drivers, complete the bold and rugged look at the rear. The bodywork is tightly wrapped over the larger dimensions and, together with bold design cues, give the Colorado a strong and purposeful stance and demeanor.

Crew Cab/ Double Cab provides greater versatility with the convenience of four doors and greater passenger space. It is perfect for family applications or where carrying passengers in comfort is a priority. The LTZ variant comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and 255/65 R17 tires, complementing the expansive wheel wells.  The LT variant is equipped with 16-inch wheels and 245/70 R16 tires.

Depending on the model variant, the all-new Colorado comes in a choice of five body colors: Summit White, Black Sapphire, Royal Gray, Sizzle Red and Auburn Brown. Only crew cab/ Double cab is available in Malaysia market.

Canon EOS C300 Receives BBC Approval

28 Mar

Canon today announces that the ground-breaking EOS C300, the first model from the new Cinema EOS System, has met the standards the BBC requires from cameras tested to the EBU recommendation EBU R118. The approval allows both internal and external BBC production teams to use the EOS C300 for the production of a variety of programmes to be broadcast on the BBC’s range of HD channels. The EOS C300 is the third professional camcorder from Canon to be approved by the BBC since the start of 2011, joining the XF305 and XF300 Full HD camcorders, which were approved for use in January last year.

“The EOS C300 has received a fantastic response since it launched in November last year, and we’re delighted it’s been approved for use by the BBC,” said Kieran Magee, Director of Professional Marketing at Canon Europe Ltd. “By utilising the expertise in our video, broadcast, DSLR and lens groups, we’ve created a unique product that offers exceptional creative scope for videographers of all kinds. Its quality and versatility make it ideal for a number of different shooting purposes, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the BBC puts it to use.”

About the Canon EOS C300        A landmark model for Canon, the EOS C300 merges Canon’s heritage in sensor and lens design to create a compact, versatile camera that offers exceptional image quality alongside the flexibility to shoot in a wide range of different situations.

The EOS C300 offers a first-class specification including a newly-designed Super 35mm-equivalent CMOS sensor with approximately 8.29 million effective pixels. MPEG-2 Full HD (MPEG2 422@HL compliant) compression and 50 Mbps recording rate allows videographers to record directly to two CF memory cards, while 4:2:2 colour sampling provides enhanced gradation and finer detail, as well as reducing jagged edges at chroma edges.
