Samsung Malaysia Launches Galaxy A3 and A5 Smartphones

MALAYSIAN celebrities Ke Qing and Venice Min trying Samsung’s Galaxy A3 via a Selfie during the media presentation of the phone as well as the Galaxy A5. They were among other local celebrities that were present for the event which included names such as Izzue Islam, Najwa Latif, Shawn Lee, Paperplane Pursuit, Liyana Fizi and An Honest Mistake.

The Galaxy A5 and A3 are Samsung’s slimmest smartphones to date, featuring refined full metal unibody designs that are 6.7mm and 6.9mm thin, respectively. Stylish and sleek, the Galaxy A5 and A3 are slim enough to slide into your pocket and hold comfortably in the palm. The Galaxy A5 and A3 equipped with refined full metal unibody design, allowing users to stand out from the crowd with the slim and sleek metal finish. Both devices will come in a variety of catchy hues, including Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, and Champagne Gold, to accommodate the personal style and preference of diverse users.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 have one of the features that avid shutterbugs will adore is the advanced 5MP front-facing camera with the innovative Wide Selfie mode. Now, users are able to capture a group picture without huddling close to one another just to nab the perfect shot. Users are also able to quickly and easily share photos or videos on their favourite social media channels with the device’s fast network speed of LTE Category 4 standard.


Taking its cue from the flagship Galaxy mobile device experience, the Galaxy A Series is equipped with an extraordinary Super AMOLED display and Adaptive Display technology to deliver clearer images with deep contrast and better viewing angles for more vivid, colourful content in virtually any environment, even under bright sunlight.

The Galaxy A5 and A3 will be available at the recommended retail price of RM1,199 and RM899 respectively from 9 January onwards at all Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung authorised dealers. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A7 will make it to Malaysian shores shortly in February 2015. More information will be disclosed closer to the availability date.

Nikon Announces D5500 and 2 new AF-S lenses

Nikon Malaysia Sdn Bhd introduces the Nikon D5500, a 24.2-megapixel DX-format camera designed for aspiring photographers seeking to challenge convention by creating images in new and exciting ways. As the world’s smallest, lightest*1 and slimmest DSLR, the D5500 with wireless connectivity delivers intuitive operations to complement the inspiration of a great shot, be it still images or videos. With the combination of a Vari-angle LCD monitor with touch-screen control, intelligent eye-sensor, and optimized image review, the DSLR fits comfortably as a trusty companion for capturing those ‘eureka’ moments of photography.


The D5500’s image sensor that is designed without an optical low-pass filter (OLPF), and Nikon’s EXPEED 4 image-processing engine that provides a compelling advantage to capturing remarkably sharp and vivid details. Delivering photographic freedom, the DX-format camera supports a wide range of ISO and includes an enhanced Picture Control system, 39-point autofocus (AF), and support for Full HD video recording in 60p format.
